I'm kind of a... a ghost magnet if I'm not careful. Nothing quite like waking up in the morning possessed by the spirit of someone who died of the plague.
[He says it lightly but that had really been no fun at all.]
Also there was that time with the Vikings.
Plenty of blood and trauma. Sometimes things get stirred up.
Possessed? [She echoes this with a flicker of a surprise on her face, tilting her head in contemplation.] That sounds... less than pleasant. Do they... take control? Are you aware of it when it happens?
I highly recommend never catching Bubonic Plague. It sucks.
They can take control, it depends how strong they are. Sometimes it's just like a- a presence inside my head. More often, they can influence actions, but not control you fully. And usually I'm aware. Sometimes it can be difficult to tell.
[Her lips twitch faintly at that.] Noted. I'll do my best to avoid that one. Although I do try to avoid plagues whenever possible. I have enough other things that are frequently trying to kill me.
[She lifts her shoulders in a faint shrug, still looking faintly amused.] I work for the government. Doesn't always make me everyone's favorite person to see coming. [...If they saw her at all.]
Well. At least I now know who to call in case there's a ghost infestation.
[max smiles back, a little awkward.]</small.
Funny. One of my brothers says pretty much that exact same thing whenever I ask him what he does.
I'd be happy to help if it ever becomes an issue.
[She picks up the awkwardness of that smile, understanding it all too well.] It's always hard on the families of those of us who are. Secrets aren't always something we keep by choice.
I bet you pull it off well. Although the latter... well. Yes. They can be, unless there's someone there to liven them up. Pity we don't come from the same place. I could lend you some of my teammates.
[She gives him a crooked smile.] I can see it. Although it really can be the most uncomfortable experience at times.
[Natasha's smile turns fond at that, a hint of affection creeping into her gaze as she glances down at her drink.] Yes. Interesting's one way of putting it. At the very least, they know how to liven things up. Not always in good ways, but life is certainly rarely dull.

[March 1st | Action]
And yeah, I do mean that. England has a lot of ghosts hanging around.
Re: [March 1st | Action]
So I've heard, although I've never actually seen any. It has enough of a bloody history, though.

Re: [March 1st | Action]
Can you exorcise yourself? Does that work?
Re: [March 1st | Action]
Kill you? What kind of thing do you do?
Um, yeah. It's... I have the gift. A lot of it is willpower, and knowing your own thoughts really well.

He's kind of... very proper. Has certain expectations of people.

Re: [March 1st | Action]
Yeah well, I would have made a horrible diplomat anyway.
Re: [March 1st | Action]
And why's that?
[March 1st | Action]
I really hate formal wear. And I find the parties unutterably dull.

I'm always happy to have people around to liven things up. Interesting people, I take it?

[He can't help but smile a little.]
I can appreciate a little excitement. Better than being bored.
